Just to be thorough, however, here are the manual installation paths: Install the CR2 files and their thumbnails (RSR for Poser 4/Artist, PNG for Pro Pack, Poser 5, Poser 6, and DAZ|Studio) anywhere in Poser's Runtime\Libraries\Character folders. The default folder is Chakat. Install the PZ2 files and their thumbnails anywhere in Poser's Runtime\Libraries\Pose folders. The default folder is Chakat. Install the RTE file and OBJ files in Poser's Runtime\Geometries\DAZAnimals folder. Install the JPEG in Poser's Runtime\Textures\Furrette2 folder. The GIF files are UV-templates, and are included in case you wish to make your own textures. Because parts of the chakat are derived from DAZ's Millennium Big Cat, the figure's mesh elements had to be encrypted for legal distribution. You'll need to run the encrypted file through RTEncoder to extract the meshes. Make certain that the Millennium Big Cat is already installed to its default location before proceeding with the next step. Launch RTEncoder. Switch to Decode mode. File to Decode: \Runtime\Geometries\DAZAnimals\ChakatGeometry.rte Key File: \Runtime\Geometries\DAZAnimals\blMilBigCat.obj Save As: \Runtime\Geometries\DAZAnimals\ChakatGeometry.zip Open the newly-created zip archive and extract the four OBJ files to Poser's Runtime\Geometries\DAZAnimals folder. Operating Instructions: ---------------------- All major tail controls, including tail morphs and EasyPose dials, can be found in the BODY group. The forepaws have morphs to retract the claws and simulate grasping motions. Morphs marked with a "pbm" prefix are partial-body morphs, and are part of a set of morphs spanning multiple body parts. They are controlled from elsewhere. For your convenience, the head, hands, and tail are equipped with propagating-scale technology, along with compensating scaling morphs, which are controlled from a special scaling dial on each body part. DAZ|Studio, unfortunately, does not yet support propagating scale, so this feature only works properly in Poser. Chakats are a hermaphroditic species. However, in the interest of variety, this figure has swappable hip geometry and morphs which permit you to select other genders, along with a default workplace-safe "neutered" option. The gender dial is found on the hip section. 0 = Genderless ("neutered") 1 = Herm 2 = Female 3 = Male Notes: ----- The head and eyes are rigged to work with Poser's "Point At" function. The chakat is Mimic-ready, and should operate with Mimic's default configuration. The chakat's upper body is compatible with most standard humanoid poses (Posette, Victoria, Stephanie, Michael, the GIRL, etc.). The lower body is not, and should be locked before such poses are applied. Utility poses to lock and unlock the lower body are included. Existing Millennium Big Cat poses can be adapted, more or less, by changing the body-part names to match the chakat's. Open a pose in your favourite text editor, then change the following: rThigh, lThigh --> rButtock, lButtock Tail1 --> tail01 Tail2 --> tail02 Tail3 --> tail03 Tail4 --> tail04 Tail5 --> tail05 Tail6 --> tail06 Tail7 --> tail07 Tail8 --> tail08 Tail9 --> tail09 Tail10 --> tail10 Tail11 --> tail11 Tail12 --> tail12 rLeg, lLeg --> rThigh, lThigh abdomen --> waist2 chest --> torso neck --> neck1 rShldr, lShldr --> rForeShldr, lForeShldr rForeArm, lForeArm --> rForeLeg, lForeLeg rWrist, lWrist --> rForeWrist, lForeWrist rHand, lHand --> rForePaw, lForePaw The chakat figure is theoretically Walk Designer-compatible. However, custom walk cycles will be necessary for proper operation. Legal Mumbo-Jumbo: ----------------- Feel free to use these items in your renders for any purpose, personal or commercial.
